Isaac Romo is a professional Mexican footballer who plays as a striker in the top flight of Mexican football. Romo began his professional career in 2003, playing for Tapatio. Despite a five year association with the team, Romo barely made any appearances before being sent out on loan.
His first loan spell, in 2003-04, was to Chivas de Guadalajara where he just scored once in his 5 appearances for the team over the season. At the end of the season, Romo was sent out, again, this time to Chivas La Piedad for another year-long loan spell. Getting more games under his belt, Romo played 25 games with 3 goals to his name.
He went back to Tapatio but after failing to break into the first team, was again sent out on loan in 2005 to Jaguares. After not playing a single game with the team, Romo was recalled to the Tapatio lineup but was again sent out on loan, this time to Club Deportivo Tigres. Playing with some of the top clubs, on loan, didn’t really help his cause as Romo barely got any playing time with the club.
He played just 2 games with Tigres but went on to play 21 games with the Tigres’ lower division affiliates, Tigres Los Mochis. He scored 5 goals in 21 games before returning to Tapatio for two seasons. 30 games over the two seasons just saw him fetch 7 goals with little more playing time.
In 2008, he moved to Queretaro and played around 16 games with 3 goals. Romo continues to be a part of the 2010 lineup at Queretaro although the task of breaking into the first team continues to be tough for Romo.
