David Carabott is a professional football player who is also currently coaching the Maltese First Division of Marsaxlokk where he is a defender. Born on May 18, 1968, Carabott is has been capped 121 times for Malta as well as 12 goals. To date, he is known as the most capped player in the country.

Carabott is known as a product of Birzebbuga Windmills. His debut into playing professional football was as a winger for Marsaxlokk of the Maltese Third Division. In 1987, he moved to Hibernians where he established himself as the team’s key player, especially on the right flank. Later in his career, he was able to successfully be versatile enough to switch from both club and international level. During his time with the club, he was able to make 221 appearances and score 57 times.

By the 2000-2001 season, Carabott made a move to transfer to Valletta and was able to be a part of a winning squad that garnered six trophies in a single season. He made 63 appearances with 6 goals for the club over a span of three years. He was also able to add to his collection of Maltese Premier League titles.

Aside from Hibernians and Valletta, he was also a part of Marsaxlokk, Msida Saint-Joseph, Sliema Wanderers, Balzan Youths, and other clubs. As for his international career, Carabott made his international debut representing Malta while he was playing for the Hibernians, which was on November 15, 1987. The match was against Switzerland in the 1988 European Football Championship qualifiers.
