Fernando Morales Esquer is a professional footballer from Mexico who plays as a midfielder. Morales is a product of the youth setup at UNAM Pumas. Graduating from the youth teams, Morales made his appearance at the highest level, with the Pumas, in a 5-1 thrashing of Chivas de Guadalajara in 2004. Since then, from 2004-07, Morales was sparingly used and played only 29 games, most of them as substitutes, scoring just twice.

In 2007, he was sent to Club Nexaca on loan as the Pumas were keen on keeping Morales in the team, but wanted him to gain some experience.

Likened to Ailton da Silva, a long time hero for the Pumas fans, Morales played 12 games for Nexaca before returning to Pumas for the 2008 season. Since 2008, Morales has made 27 appearances for the club, mostly as a substitute, scoring 5 goals in the process.

Despite being a fringe player, Morales already has three winners’ medals in his kitty, with the 2004 Apertura & Clausura triumphs as well as the 2009 Clausura title win.
