Jose Joel Gonazalez, popularly known as El Chicharo, is a Mexican footballer who began his professional career with a local team in Irapuato, in 2000. He played there for 2 years, after which his skill was noticed and he signed with Atlante FC, his current club, in 2002. Remaining with Atlante for 2 years, Gonzalez made over 100 appearances with the team, and scored two goals in this duration.
In 2005, Gonzalez moved to CF Monterrey, where he only remained for one year, after which he returned to Atlante FC. A year, a goal and 38 appearances after, Gonzalez found himself back in CF Monterrey, for another season, and then in 2009 he moved to Necaxa. However, within the same year, Gonzalez moved back to Atlante FC, where he is currently playing.
