Pedro Angel Quinonez Rodriguez is a professional football player from Ecuador who plays as a midfielder. In 2001, Quinonez was picked up by the youth setup at El Nacional, one of the biggest teams in Ecuador. The 16 year old played at the various youth levels for the team and in 2004, made his debut for the senior side, still as a member of the youth squad. In 2005, Quinonez moved above his youth team status and became a permanent member of the first team at El Nacional.

In 2005 and 2006, Quinonez was a prominent member of the El Nacional team that won two back-to-back national league titles to tie the record for the most successful club in Ecuador. In 2007, his versatility of being able to fill any midfield position, and role, got him into the Ecuadorian national team. At the club level, he moved to Santos FC in Brazil, one of the biggest teams in the continent. This move came after 113 first team appearances for El Nacional that produced 10 goals.

Quinonez’s move to Santos FC was marred with lesser playing time and therefore, after the entire 2008 season, Quinonez only added 15 games to his career stats and had one goal to show for his exploits.
In a bid to gain more playing time and revive the fire in his career, Quinonez moved to Santos Laguna in Mexico, in 2009, and is promised a regular starting place to showcase his ability.
