Francisco Javier Torres Zamores is a professional footballer from Mexico who plays as a midfielder. A product of the youth system at Club America, Torres broke into the Club America first team in 2002 however, it wasn’t until the Clausura tournament in 2003 that he made his debut for Club America. A player with a distinct liking for attacking play, Torres scored his first goal in just his third game at the top level.
Although Torres had created a strong place for himself in the team, a change in coach the following season didn’t work out for him and soon, Torres found himself warming the bench at first, and then practicing with the reserves. After making a number of appearances in 2003, Torres didn’t play a minute under the new coach and in 2004, made just two appearances as a substitute.
Another change in coach saw Torres regain his spot and became a useful part of the first team. Despite being a part of the team for 5 seasons, Torres only played 69 games and scored 5 times before moving to Santos Laguna in 2006. Torres, almost instantly, has become a part of the starting lineup at Santos and has played over 75 games, scoring 6 goals, till date.
At the international level, Torres played three games for the Mexican Under-20 team and has made his debut for the senior national team in 2008.
