Sofian Chahed is a Tunisian football player who currently features for the German Bundesliga club, Hannover 96. He plays as a defender and holds dual German-Tunisian nationality.
Sofian Chahed commenced his professional club football career at Hertha Berlin in 2003 and played for them until 2009, scoring 4 goals in 89 league matches. At the end of the 2008-2009 season Chahed was released by Berlin and was signed by Hannover 96. Sofian Chahed made his international debut for Tunisia in October 2009.
In 2003, Sofian participated at the FIFA World Youth Championship at the youth level, and as he never made any senior appearance for Germany, he remained eligible for the Tunisian national side. He was called by the Tunisia team for a training camp on 1st September, 2009.
Later on, he was called up for a World Cup qualification match which was held against Kenya, on 1st October, 2009 against Kenya other than a friendly match against Saudi Arabia. Ten days later, he made his national debut for Tunisia national team.
