A professional footballer from Mexico, Marco Antonio Gomez Garduno is striker who plays at the top flight of football in Mexico. Gomez began his professional career with Club America in 2005 and was a product of the youth system at the team. Coming up through the ranks, Gomez got into the first team squad but failed to make himself a regular in the first team, playing just 3 games as a substitute. His stint with Club America lasted between 2005 and 2007, and in search of first team football, Gomez left for San Luis. For two seasons at San Luis, Gomez just managed 6 appearances, again mostly as a substitute. He had yet to score his first top-division goal, something that would take another season to come.
Gomez had always been in teams that had some strong forwards and that kept him from the starting lineup. In Club America, he had to contend with the likes of Cuauhtemoc Blanco and Claudio Lopez, some of the biggest names in world football. His was also forced to play alongside Aaron Padilla, Vincent Matias Vuoso as well as Salvador Cabanas, all either established goal scorers or young starlets.
For the beginning of 2009-10, Gomez was sent to Club Necaxa on loan where he managed to score his first goal in 11 appearances. He would return to San Luis FC before the end of the season but again failed to make any appearances. In 2010, he moved to Queretaro FC in search of regular first team football.
