Alex Sandro da Silva, commonly known simply as Alex Silva, is a Brazilian central defender who currently features for the German Bundesliga club SV Hamburg. He plays as a central defender and is the younger brother of the Benfica and Brazilian international defender Luisao.
Alex Sandro da Silva commenced his professional club football career at Brazilian club Vitoria in 2003 and played for them until 2005. He was signed by Brazilian giants Sao Paulo and won the Brazilian league with them in 2006 and 2007.
Sandro da Silva was signed by German club SV Hamburg in 2008.
Alex Sandro da Silva made his international debut for Brazil in 2007 and won the Copa America with his nation.
