Marko Marin is a young Germany international football player who currently features for the English and European giants Chelsea. He plays as a winger and rated as one of the best young players in his position in Europe.

Marin commenced his professional club football career with German club Borussia Monchengladbach in 2007 and played as a first team regular for them for two seasons, making 68 league appearances and scoring 8 goals in the Bundesliga.

In June 2009 Marin was signed by Werder Bremen for 8.2 million euros and he soon established himself as a key player for the club. He went on to score eight goals in 87 Bundesliga matches in the following three seasons.

In the summer of 2012 Chelsea signed Marin from Bremen.

Marin made his international debut for Germany against Belarus on May 27, 2008 and played for his country at the 2010 World Cup finals.

Career Highlights

With Borussia Monchengladbach team, he won the 2. Bundesliga in 2007-08. While playing for Germany team, he won the UEFA European U21 football championship in 2009 and the FIFA World Cup bronze medal in 2010. Individually, he won the Fritz-Walter-Medal 2006 in Silver and the Fritz-Walter-Medal 2007 in gold.
