Cristian Zaccardo is a World Cup winning Italian football player who currently features for the German Bundesliga club VfL Wolfsburg. He plays as a right-back and can also play as a central defender.
Cristian Zaccardo is a product of the youth academy of Italian club Bologna and made made his first team debut for the club in 2001. He played for them until 2004 and moved to Palermo in 2004 for whom he played for until 2008, playing in almost 150 league matches and establishing himself as one of the best defenders in entire Italy.
Zaccardo was signed by VfL Wolfsburg in 2008 and won the German Bundesliga title with the Wolves in the 2008-2009 season.
Cristian Zaccardo made his international debut for Italy in 2004 and was part of the Italian squad that won the 2006 World Cup finals. He is famous for scoring an own goal for his nation against the USA in the group stage match.
