Ricardo Miguel Moreira da Costa is a Portugal international football player who currently features for the Spanish football club Valencia. He plays as a defender.

Costa developed at the youth academy of Portuguese club Boavista but commenced his professional club football career at rivals FC Porto 2001 after playing for two years for Porto's B side. Costa played for the Portuguese giants until 2007, becoming one of the best defenders in Portugal.

Costa won the Portuguese Liga four times with Porto, the UEFA Cup in the 2002-2003 season and the Champions League in 2003-2004. Costa also won the Portuguese Cup with Porto twice: in 2004 and 2006.

Costa was signed by German club VfL Wolfsburg in July 2007 and in 2010 joined Valencia. Since then he has become one of the most notable players in Europe, his performances at the back for Los Che earning him praise and adulation from followers of Spanish football.

Costa made his international debut for Portugal in 2005 and played for his nation at the 2006 World Cup finals in Germany.
