Alexander Madlung is a professional German football player who presently features for the German Bundesliga club, VfL Wolfsburg as a defender.

Madlung commenced his professional club football career at German club, Hertha BSC in 2002 and played for them for four years until 2006. He scored 11 goals in 81 appearances for Hertha. Similarly, for Hertha BSC II, he made 65 appearances and scored 16 goals.

Alexander was signed by VfL Wolfsburg in 2006. He won the German Bundesliga title with the Wolves in the 2008-2009 season.
