Stephen Ayodele Makinwa is a Nigerian international football player who currently features for the Italian Serie A club Lazio. He plays as a striker.
Stephen Ayodele Makinwa commenced his club football career at Nigerian club FC Ebedei and in 2000 was signed by Reggina. He started his Italian football career on loan at Italian Serie D club Conegliano. In 2001 he was signed by Como in Serie B after COmo bought 50% of the rights to the player. In 2002 Makinwa was back at Reggina in Serie C1 but the following season he was back playing for Como.
In 2004 Makinwa was signed by Modena on loan and he then made his debut in the Italian Serie A. In the summer of 2005 Makinwa was signed by Palermo for 7.5 million euros.
In the summer of 2006 Stephen Makinwa was signed by Lazio on a co-ownership deal for 3.3 million euros and one year later was fully bought by Lazio. Makinwa has been playing for the Roman side since then, although he played for Reggina on loan in 2008 and for Chievo in 2009.
Stephen Ayodele Makinwa made his international debut for Nigeria in 2004.
