Zvjezdan Misimovic is a German-born Bosnian international football player who currently features for the German champions Vfl Wolfsburg. He is a versatile footballer who can play either as an attacking midfielder or as a winger and was one of the key players for Wolfsburg in their maiden German Bundesliga conquest in the 2008-2009 season.
Zvjezdan Misimovic commenced his professional club football career at Bayern Munich after rising through the ranks and playing for the B team for four years. He amde just three league appearances for the first team of Bayern between 2002 and 2004 and was signed by VfL Bockum in 2004. He scored 21 goals in 92 league matches for them between 2004 and 2007 and played for Nurmberg for the 2007-2008 season.
Misimovic was signed by VfL Wolfsburg in 2008 on a four-year contract on a transfer fee of 3.9 million pounds and was their midfield architect in the 2008-2009 season as Wolfsburg won their first ever German Bundesliga title.
Zvejezdan Misimovic made his international debut for Bosnia in 2004 and although he did decide to retire from international football in April 2008, inside days he was cajoled to retract his decision.
