A football defender from Brazil, Fabio Camilo de Brito began playing football with the youth club of Club Atletico Juventus, in 1985. He eventually started playing professionally for the same club, and remained with them till 1995. In 1996, Brito, who popularly known as Nene, completed one season with Guarani F.C., after which he spent another season with Sporting Club de Portugal. In 1998, Nene moved to Esporte Club Bahia, where once again he spent only one season.

In 1999, Nene moved to Corinthians, with whom he made 24 appearances and scored 5 goals. After one season here, Nene moved to Gremio, and kept club hopping, onto Hertha BSC Berlin, then Vitoria and then finally onto Urawa Red Diamonds, where he remained till 2007, during which time he made over 40 appearances with the team, scoring 4 times. In 2008, Nene moved to his current club, Coritiba.

Some of Nene's title wins include the DFB-Ligapokal in 2003, the Campeonato Baiano in 2004 and 2005, the J. League championship in 2006, the Emperor's Cup championship in the same ear and then the AFC Champions league title in 2007. Nene has also had the opportunity to play for his country, when he was a part of the Brazilian national team in 1995, with whom he appeared in 5 matches, but failed to score.
