A professional football player form Paraguay, Nestor Ayala Villagra is a striker who has played at the top level in El Salvador, Paraguay and Argentina. Ayala began playing professionally in 2004 when he joined Sporting Iteno in the third division of the Paraguayan football league structure. His excellent season was duly rewarded with numerous offers from various clubs in El Salvador's Primera Division.

Ayala decided to sign up with Once Lobos in 2004 and played for a year, scoring 16 times. In 2005, he moved to C. D. Atletico Balboa for another strong season. He was the team's top-scorer at the end of the season and also the second highest scorer in the league. He was performing well in the opportunities that he got and as a result, the bigger clubs in the country came looking and soon, Ayala was playing for Club Deportivo FAS in 2006. Ayala again finished as the top scorer in the team and was voted as the best player for FAS that season.

FAS finished the year in second place thanks to vital goals from Ayala at opportune moments. Nestor almost became a nationalized Salvadoran to play for their national side however, his tryst with Deportivo FAS was to end mid-season after allegations of being an alcoholic were laid out by the club owners. Ayala came back to Paraguay and immediately signed up with Club Sportivo Lugueno in 2007. He was part of the team that won the league title in 2007 and his 8 goals in 20 games were vial to the cause.

In 2007, Ayala moved to Argentina to play for Club Atletico Tigre and has been extremely valuable to the team as a regular starter in their lineup. Tigre finished the season in second place, mainly due to the 7 goals scored by Ayala, in just 11 games, that helped the team gain a strong foothold.

At the International level, Ayala has received a single cap for Paraguay when he was called up to represent his country in a world cup qualifier against Ecuador. Ayala marked the occasion with a memorable goal.
