An Argentine footballer, Daniel Alejandro Islas began his professional football career with Club Atletico Independiente in 1997. A top division club, Islas remained with Independiente till 1999, when he dropped one division to join Club Atletico Tigre, where he remained till 2002.
He moved to Los Andes, a club he remained with only for one season, and in 2003 Islas returned to the top division with Nueva Chicago, though the club was relegated to the second division at the end of the season. Islas remained with the club for another year, and then in 2005 he moved to Huracan de Tres Arroyos.
In 2007, Islas once again returned to Tigre, and was instrumental in the club’s promotion to the top division. This resulted in him being the first goalkeeper for the Apertura 2007, where he led the team to second place, which was the highest league finish in the history of the club. Islas is still a goalkeeper for Tigre.
