An Argentine footballer from Rio Cuarto, Matias Oyola began his professional football career with River Plate, a club he joined through the youth system. In 2003, Oyola enjoyed a stint with Defensores de Belgrano, a 2nd division club in the Argentine football league, when he was loaned to the club till 2005.
In 2005, Oyola moved to Gimnasia y Esgrima de Jujuy, but after one season he returned to River Plate, with he made only three league appearances, before his transfer to Belgrano de Cordoba in 2007. When at the end of the season, Belgrano faced relegation, Oyola switched to Independiente, with whom he remained for only one season, during which time he scored on goal in 19 appearances.
At the end of the season, in 2008, Oyola switched to this current club, Colon de Santa Fe.
