Goran Pandev is a Macedonian football player who currently features for the Italian Serie A club Napoli. He plays as a striker and is one of the best strikers in the Italian top fight.
Pandev commenced his professional club football career at Macedonian club Belascia when he was only 16 years of age. He played in the Prva Liga for one season and was signed by Italian giants Inter Milan in the summer of 2001.
Pandev was on the books of the Inter until 2004 but never played a league game for them as he was sent out on loan on two separate occasions.
In 2004 Lazio signed Pandev and he has developed to become one of the club’s most celebrated players. He went on to feature in over 150 league matches and scored just under 50 goals.
Pandev joined Inter in 2010 and helped his team win Serie A, the Coppa Italia and the Champions League in 2009-10. He also won the Italian Cup with the Nerazzurri in 2010-11.
However, in the summer of 2011 Pandev moved to Napoli on loan for the 2011-12 campaign and quite impressive for the Naples outfit, scoring six goals in 30 league appearances. Thereafter, he was signed by Napoli on a permanent contract.
Pandev made his international debut for Macedonia in 2001 and is the nation’s best ever footballer. He has featured in over 65 games for his country.
