Lionel Sebastián Scaloni is an Argentine international footballer who currently features for the Spanish club Real Mallorca. He is a versatile player who can play as a right back or winger.

Lionel Scaloni commenced his career at Argentine club Newell’s Old Boys in 1995 and joined Estudientes in 1996. He moved to Spain and Deportivo la Coruna in the summer of 1998 and played for the Galician giants until the summer of 2006. He made 202 league appearances for Depor and scored 14 goals and the Spanish league in 2000.

After a short loan stint at West Ham United in the Premiershi, he signed for Racing Santander on a one-year contract on a free transfer and at the start of the 2007-2008 season he moved to Italy to play for Lazio.

In January 2008 he returned to Spain and signed for Real Mallorca. Lionel Scaloni made his international debut for Argentina in 2003 and featured in the 2006 Germany World Cup.
