Matteo Contini is an Italian football player who currently features for the Italian Serie A club Napoli. He plays as a central defender.

Matteo Contini developed at the youth academy of Italian and European giants AC Milan but never played professionally for the club. He started his professional club football career with Livorno in 1999 and played for them for one season, featuring in 15 league matches. He subsequently went into play for Spal, Monza, L’Aquilla and Avellino.

Matteo Contini was then signed by Parma in 2004 and he earned a good reputation for himself in the subsequent three years. He scored twice in 89 league matches and moved to Napoli in 2007. He has been carrying on his good form at Napoli.
