An Argentine footballer, Andres San Martin plays for Arsenal de Sarandi in the Primera Division Argentina. In 1997, San Martin became a professional footballer after making his debut for second division side, Banfield. Two years later, he was in the big league at Union de Santa Fe, playing in top-flight football. For three seasons, he remained at Banfield until Union de Santa Fe gained promotion in 2003. San Martin left Banfield for Union once they too were in the Primera Division.

In 2005, San Martin got the opportunity to play with River Plate however, just a season into the tenure, he was loaned out to Spanish side CD Tenerife. Although there was a clause to sign San Martin permanently at the end of the loan period, Tenerife decided against it and San Martin was back in Argentina. River Plate then loaned him out to Arsenal de Sarandi in 2007 but in this case, Arsenal chose to sign him on permanently at the end of the loan tenure.

Since then, San Martin has enjoyed his time at the club where he gets more games than he did in the past. With Arsenal, San Martin became part of the 2007 Copa Sudamericana winning squad.
