Amdy Moustapha Faye is a Senegalese international football player who currently features for the English Premier League club Stoke City. He plays as a midfielder.
Amdy Faye started his professional club career at French side AJ Auxerre in 1998 and featured in 81 league matches for them between 1998 and 2003, scoring 3 goals.
Amdy Faye was then signed by Portsmouth in 2003 for 1.5 million pounds. He made his debut for Pompey against Aston Villa in a 2-1 home victory but miss a major chunk of the 2003-2004 season due to a knee injury.
After 47 Premiership matches for Portsmouth, Faye was signed by Newcastle United in January 2005 and he featured prominently for the Magpies, featuring in 31 league matches.
Amdy Faye then moved to Charlton Athletic where he played between 2006 and 2008 and scored one goal in 29 league matches. He also featured for Scottish giants Rangers for a short period of time on a loan deal during that period.
In the summer of 2008 Stoke City signed Faye.
Amdy Faye made his international debut for Senegal in 2002 and has played 18 matches for his nation so far.
