Lee Barry Cattermole is a young English football player who currently features for the English Premier League club Wigan Athletic. He plays as a defensive midfielder.
Lee Cattermole developed at the your academy of Premiership club Middlesbrough. He played in ‘Boro’s system from 2005 to 2008. He made his first team debut for Middlesbrough in 2005 and played for them for three seasons until 2008.
Cattermole made his first team for Middlesbrough on January 2,2006 against Newcastle United in the Tyne-Tees derby. He gradually progressed in the first team for Boron in the 2005-2006 season and played some good matches for the club under the then manager Steve McClaren. On May 7, 2006 he became the club’s youngest ever captain when he skippered his side against Fulham away from home in the English Premier League.
Lee Cattermole scored a total of 3 goals in 69 Premiership matches for Middlesbrough and in late July 2008 signed a three year contract with Wigan Athletic worth 3.5 million pounds. He is supposed to show his quality in the 2008-2009 season.
