Darren Ashley Bent is a England international football player who currently features for the English Premier League side Sunderland AFC. He plays as a striker.

Darren Bent made his professional club star with Ipswich Town in 2001 and made a name for himself there. He featured in 126 league matches and scored 48 goals and then in the summer of 2005 was signed by Charlton Athletic for 2.5 million pounds.

Darren Bent was hugely prolific again at the London side as he hit 31 goals in 68 English Premier League fixtures.

In the summer of 2007 Tottenham Hotspur signed Bent from Charlton for 16.7 million pounds but he had a poor 2007-2008 Premier League season as he could score only 6 goals in 27 Premiership games. He finished with 18 goals in 60 games.

On August 5, Bent signed with Sunderland AFC for 10 million pounds. He so far has scored 18 goals in 28 games.

Darren Bent made his international debut for England in March 2006 against Uruguay at Anfield and has played two more matches for his nation so far,
