Geovanni Mauricio
Geovanni Deiberson Mauricio, commonly known simply as Geovanni, is a Brazilian international footballer who currently features for the English Premier League side Hull City. He plays as an attacking midfielder.
Geovanni commenced his professional career with Brazilian giants Cruzeiro in 1997 and played for them for four seasons. In 2001 he was signed by Spanish and European giants FC Barcelona after the player’s exceptional performance at the Sydney Olympics in 2000. But he failed to settle in Catalunya and was signed signed by Portuguese powerhouse Benfica in 2003 and although he played 101 league matches, he could muster just 17 goals.
After one season in Cruzeiro, Geovanni was signed by Manchester City in the summer of 2007 on a one year deal. After a disappointing 2007-2008 campaign, he moved to Hull City.
Geovanni made his international debut for Brazil in 2001 and has scored 3 goals in 14 matches so far.
