Christian Poulsen

Christian Bager Poulsen is a very experienced Danish footballer who currently features for the Spanish side Sevilla FC. He plays as a central midfielder or defensive midfielder and is also an international for Denmark.

Christian Poulsen made his professional debut for the Danish giants at FC Copenhagen in 2000 and after two season he was off to German side Schalke for a transfer fee of 7 million euros, the most expensive sale by a Danish club at the time. He featured in 111 matches in all competitions for the Germans and in the summer of 2006 was signed by Sevilla on a free transfer.

Poulsen won the UEFA Cup with Sevilla in 2007 and was named the best new signing in Spain by Spanish sports daily Marca. He became the first player to be named Danish Player of the Year for two consecutive years, when he also won the 2006 award.

He has been a Danish international since 2001 and has featured in over 55 matches for them.
