Sergio Gonzalez Soriano, popularly known as Sergio, is a Spanish footballer who currently features for the Spanish football club Depotivo la Coruna. He plays as a midfielder who can play both as a defensive midfielder and a creative midfielder.
Sergio is a Catalan-born footballer who made his debut in La Liga in 1997 for Espanyol Barcelona and played 110 league matches in four seasons. Sergio was then signed by Galician side Deportivo la Coruna in the summer and has featured in more than 200 league matches for the Galician club. He was at the centre of the Depor success at the start of this century.
Sergio is now the captain of Deportivo la Coruna.
Sergio made his international debut for Spain in 2001 in a 2002 World Cup qualifier against Liechtenstein against France. He has played 11 matches for Spain.
