A professional football player from France, Benoit Tremoulinas plays as a defended in the left-back position. Although primarily a defender, Benoit loves to move up the flank and help his team out in attack. He has also been known to play higher up the pitch, as an out-and-out midfielder. Benoit began his playing career at the youth academy of his home-town club, US Lormont.
He joined Lormont in 1993 and in 1994, moved to the FC Girondins de Bordeaux youth academy. From 1994 to 2007, Benoit was a part of the youth academy at Bordeaux and played his way up the ranks into the first team. Once in the Bordeaux first team, it didn’t take Benoit too many matches to establish himself as a regular first team player. After 20 games in his first season with the club, Benoit became a regular and has played over 130 times for the, scoring 4 goals and creating 22.
Benoit was part of the Bordeaux side that won the 2008-09 Ligue 1 title as well as the 2009 Coupe de la League and the 2008 & 2009 Trophee des Champions. He was also named to the team of the season for 2009-10. At the international level, although Benoit has received a call-up to the first team, he hasn’t made his debut yet and was only on the bench, behind France’s irreplaceable captain, Patrice Evra.
