Sílvio Manuel Pereira, commonly known simply as Silvio, is a Portugal international football player who currently features for the Spanish football club Atletico Madrid. He plays as a full-back and can play both at right-back and at left-back.
Silvio commenced his professional club football career at Atletico Cacem in 2006 and after one year joined Odivelas. He then moved to Rio Ave where he played for two seasons before being signed by Sporting Braga.
It was at Braga that Silvio came into prominence, scoring one goal in 20 league appearances in 2010-11. He helped his side reach the final of the Europa League that season.
In the summer of 2011 Atletico signed Silvio from Braga for €7 million. He won the Europa League and the UEFA Super Cup with the Madrid club in 2012.
Silvio made his international debut for Portugal in 2010 and has featured in five matches for his country so far.
