Mariano Ferreira Filho is a professional football player from Brazil who plays as a defender in the right-back position. In 2005, Mariano broke through the youth academy at Guarani Futebol Clube and made his debut for the first team. He had 23 appearances across two seasons, and in 2007, moved to Ipatinga Futebol Clube.

2007 was quite busy for Mariano who moved, instantly after signing for Ipatinga, to Tombense Futebol Clube but before he could play even a single game for them, Mariano had to move to Cruzeiro Esporte Clube on a loan deal. Finally getting some playing time during the year, Mariano made 18 appearances for the side, and ended the year with some action.

He moved to Ipatinga on loan, the following season, and played 7 times before moving on to Atletico Mineiro and playing another 16 games to end 2008 on a high. In 2009, Mariano was sent on loan to Fluminense where he played 20 games, scoring twice, and impressed the club enough to sign him up for the 2010 and 2011 seasons. He helped the side win the 2010 Serie A title in Brazil as well as come second at the 2009 Copa Sudamericana.

Mariano hit top-form, playing another 70 games for the club as their first choice right-back, and scored another 3 goals to complete the picture. In 2012, he was picked up by FC Girondins de Bordeaux to become a part of their first team. Since moving to France, Mariano has made 19 appearances for the club as their first-choice right-back as well.

Since 2010, Mariano has been a part of the Brazilian national team but has yet to win his first cap for the side.
