A professional football player from Brazil, Leandro Amaro dos Santos plays as a defender in the centre-back position. Leandro is a product of the Cruzeiro youth academy and since 2004, had been a candidate for progress to the first team. He broke into the first team in 2006, and from 2006 to 2010, spent most of his time out there, playing with clubs on loan.
In 2006, his first loan move saw him travel to Cabofriense before Leandro went to Villa Nova Atletico Clube in 2007. The following season he would return to Cabofriense before a string of loan moves in 2009. First, he moved to Marilia Atletico Clube for three games before moving to Villa Nova and playing twice.
Finally, Leandro would end 2009 at Atletico Clube Goianiense where he got some semblance of regular football. In 2010, for the first half of the season, Leandro moved to Botafogo and played 18 games before Palmeiras decided to sign him on a permanent deal. Since moving to Palmeiras, Leandro has helped the team win the 2012 Copa do Brasil title and been a regular part of their starting line-up.
