Bruno Cardoso
A professional football player from Brazil, Bruno Cortez Cardoso has played football in the position of goalkeeper. A graduate of the youth academy at Palmeiras, Bruno came up with a lot of promise and although he wasn’t placed in the Palmeiras first team after 8 seasons in the youth academy, he stayed with the reserve or B-team.
In 2004, Bruno began his professional career for Palmeiras-B, but played mostly in the state league competitions. He moved to the first team in 2005 after injuries and circumstances forced the club to look at other goalkeeping options. Since then, Bruno has been a part of the team on an off-on basis, playing around 31 games and winning the 2008 Sao Paolo State title and the 2012 Copa do Brasil title from the bench.
He has also been a part of the Palmeiras side that won the 2011 Serie B title and his performances in the Copa do Brasil, in 2012, won him the best-goalkeeper of the tournament title. Since 2012, after spending a year out on loan to Portuguesa in 2011, Bruno has become the first choice goalkeeper for Palmeiras.
