Gilberto Souza
Gilberto Oliveira Souza Junior is a professional football player from Brazil who plays as a striker. Gilberto is a product of the Santa Cruz youth Academy, where he spent 2005 and 2006, fine-tuning his skills as a football player. He developed a strong right foot and a fantastic ability to find the back of the net and made his professional debut in 2007.
From 2007 to 2011, Gilberto was part of Santa Cruz but would spend his first season out on loan to Confianca in the lower divisions in Brazil. He then spent a couple of years at Santa Cruz, after which Gilberto was sent out on a loan move to Vera Cruz in 2010, following which he returned to Santa Cruz in fine style.
He notched up around 31 appearances and scored 14 goals, 12 of which came in the Pernambuco State League and helped the team win the title. In 2011, Gilberto was signed by Internacional and from after winning the 2012 Campeonato Gaucho title, he was sent out on loan to Sport Club do Recife. Gilberto has played 28 games for Internacional so far, scoring 6 times.
