Oscar dos Santos Emboaba Junior is a young Brazil international football player who currently features for the English and European giants Chelsea. He plays as an attacking midfielder and is rated as one of the most promising youngsters in the world.

Oscar was a major find for the Uniao Barbarense youth academy in 2004 but the following season, he was picked up by the youth academy at Sao Paulo. From 2004 to 2009, Oscar shone for the Sao Paulo youth academy and made his debut for the Brazil at the Under-20 team.

From 2009 to 2012, Oscar made his presence felt in the Sao Paulo line-up, however he wasn’t getting an opportunity to play in the league. Oscar spent his time playing in the state league tournaments, the cups but his big moments came with the Brazilian national teams at various age-groups. He did, however, become a part of the 2008 Sao Paulo Serie A title winning side, albeit as a reserve player in the squad.

He moved to Internacional in 2011, and after winning the Campeonato Gaucho title with the side, repeated the feat in 2012. Oscar also helped the side win the 2011 Recopa Sudamericana title.

During the Under-20 FIFA World Cup, Oscar scored a hat-trick in the finals, winning the cup for Brazil and also getting compared to the likes of Geoff Hurst. He made a total of 16 appearances for the Under-20 side before moving onto the Under-23 side in 2012. However, before that promotion, Oscar had also made his debut for the Brazilian senior national team in 2011, and has played over six games for them since then, and also represented them at te 2012 London Olympics.

Oscar has also helped his national team win the 2011 South American Youth Championships and was part of the team that won the Superclasicos de las Americas in 2011.

In the summer of 2012 Chelsea signed Oscar from a transfer fee reported to be somewhere in the middle of £20 million and £25 million. He quickly settled in the first team at Stamford Bridge and has shown loads of promise both in the Premier League and in the Champions League.
