A professional football player from Brazil, Andre Luiz Barreto Silva Lima plays as a striker. Lima began his playing career at the Vasco da Gama youth academy, making his way into the first team in 2004. He spent 2004 and 2005 with Vasco da Gama, playing just 19 games and scoring 1 goal. Almost all of Lima’s appearances were as a substitute. In 2005, he decided to move to Belgium and signed with Beerschot
AC.

The move proved to be successful in terms of silverware because Beerschot won the Belgian Cup in 2005. However, Lima’s contribution was just five games with nothing much to show from them but 1 goal. In the early part of 2006, Lima moved back to Brazil and signed with Madureira. However, just 4 games later, he was moving to Sampaio Correa.

Lima had a good spell with Sampaio Correa, scoring 15 goals in 22 games and caught the eye of Botafogo. In 2007, Lima moved to Botafogo and played 17 games for the side, scoring 8 times, and then signing up with Hertha Berlin in Germany.

From 2007 to 2010, Lima was a part of Hertha Berlin but only made 16 appearances for the club, scoring twice. He spent 2008-09 on loan to Sao Paulo, a part of 2009 on loan to Botafogo, while 2010 was split between Fluminense and Gremio.

In 2011, after 11 goals in 21 games, Lima was permanently signed up by Gremio where he’s become one of the strikers who comes on in the rotation, scoring 9 goals in 27 games since. Lima has won the Brazilian Cup Golden Boot in 2007, thanks to his performances for Sampaio Correa. He was also a part of the Sao Paulo team that won the 2008 Serie A title, where Lima played 19 games and scored 4 goals.
