Marco Lopes

A professional football player from Brazil, Marco Rogerio Ricci Lopes plays as a defender on the wings. An extremely versatile player, Lopes can play on either flank, a trait he learnt when he started off at the youth academy at Santo Andre in 2003. From 2003 to 2008, he was part of the youth team before making his debut for the first team in 2008.

After a handful of games for the club, Marco was picked up by Santos and he immediately slotted into the first team. Since moving to Santos in 2008, Marco played over 180 games for the club, scoring 2 goals, before being sent on a loan move to Gremio in 2012. The loan move came after Marco’s performances dipped in 2011 and even though Santos went on to win the 2011 Campeonato Paulista titles and the Copa Libertadores title, Marco played little part in either.
