Anderson da Silveira Ribeiro, also known as Anderson Pico, is a professional football player from Brazil who plays as a defender in the wing-back position, although he’s also played as a centre-back for his team, when required. Pico was inducted into the Gremio youth academy in 2002, at the age of 14. For 5 seasons, he worked his magic through the youth academy, until July 2007 when Pico was invited into the first team after the sale of Lucio and an injury to Bruno Teles.
Although brought in as a replacement, Pico established himself as a permanent member of the first team with some fantastic individual displays. However, his long-term success depended on Pico’s performances as a member of the team.
His lack of tactical awareness meant that he was soon dropped from the first team and placed on the reserve squad. Every now and then, Pico would make an appearance for the first team but his main playing time was spent playing with the reserve squad.
He spent 2009 on a loan move to Figueirense where he played just 11 games before moving onto Brasiliense in 2010. The following season he would spend on loan at Juventude while in 2012, Sao Jose will be Pico’s home on his fourth loan spell from Gremio. Pico has played over 45 league games for Gremio, even scoring 4 times.
A part of the team that won the Rio Grande do Sul title in 2007, Pico is known mainly for his hard crosses.
