Rodrigo Oliveira de Bittencourt, also known as Diguinho, is a professional football player from Brazil who plays as a defensive midfielder. Diguinho was a youth team player at the Internacional youth academy, in 1999. For the last two seasons of his youth team days, he made a massive mark on the coaching staff, finding his way into the first team.
However, Diguinho entered the first team only to be sidelined by a massive injury. He spent most of his time recovering through 2001, and in 2002, signed up with Esporte Clube Ulbra to make his playing debut in the lower leagues. For three seasons, Diguinho would play for Ulbra before making the move to Mogi Mirim Esporte Clube.
After spending just a few months at Mogi Mirim, Diguinho moved to Botafogo on loan and spend the next three seasons playing with the side. He won the Taca Rio title with Botafogo in 2006, 2007 and 2008, as well as the Rio de Janeiro State League title in 2006. Although he wasn’t a regular starter for the team, Diguinho did make almost 70 appearances in those three seasons, scoring two goals as well.
In 2009, he left Mogi Mirim and signed up with Fluminense on a permanent contract. Despite being part of the Serie A title winning team in 2010, Diguinho’s contributions to the team have been limited. He was, however, part of the Rio de Janeiro State League title winning side, in 2012. Diguinho has just made 20-odd appearances for the team in 4 years.
