Guilherme Negueba
A professional football player from Brazil, Guilherme Ferreira Pinto, also known as Negueba, plays as a midfielder on the wings, or a winger. Negueba came up in football thanks to the wonderful scouting agents that Brazilian youth football can boast of. He was playing Futsal at the Jacarepagua Tenis Clube, before moving to the Jequia da Ilha. Scouts from Flamengo saw this youngster playing amongst other children and his performances gave them enough reason to come in sign Negueba to the youth academy.
From the age of 9, Negueba was a member of the youth academy and in 2010, was called up to the first team to make his professional debut. Despite this move, Negueba spent his time playing with the youth team as well as the first team, as his team management required him to. Negueba was also picked for the Under-20 Brazil national team and played 7 games for the side, helping them win the 2011 FIFA Under-20 World Cup.
He has also won the 2010 Campeonato Carioca Juvenil title as well as the Copa Sao Paulo de Futebol Junior title in 2011. For the first team, Negueba was part of the 2011 Taca Guanabara and Taca Rio title winning squads as well as the 2011 Rio de Janeiro State League winning team. He has already played over 45 games for the Flamengo first team, scoring three goals in the process.
