Luiz Antonio
A professional football player from Brazil, Luiz Antonio de Souza Soares plays as a midfielder. Known for his ability to play right in front of the defenders, offering them protection, Luiz began his playing career at Flamengo’s youth academy. From 2007 to 2011, Luiz was working his way up the ladder at the youth academy, and was part of the Under-23 state league title winning Flamengo side in 2009.
He moved into the first team in 2011, but this was after Luiz had already been named to the Brazilian Under-20 national team in 2010. Since coming into the first team, Luiz initially spent a year shuttling between the youth and senior team. He was used as a substitute in the senior team, making 11 appearances over the duration of his time with the team so far.
