Raphael Jose Botti is a professional football player from Brazil who plays as a midfielder. He made his beginning as a youth football player on Vasco da Gama’s books, in 1994. The, then, 13 year old Raphael went on to play for the youth academy for seven years, before breaking into the first team. Raphael was part of the Vasco da Gama first team in 2001, playing 20 games and scoring a goal. However, he wasn’t considered to be good enough to play in the league and that was all he could accumulate in terms of appearances.

He moved to South Korea and signed with Jeonbuk Motors in 2002. From 2002 to 2009, Raphael was mostly a part of the Jeonbuk first team and played over a hundred games, scoring 11 goals. In 2007, however, the team decided that Raphael needed to go out on loan because Jeonbuk had no more place for him in the line-up. He went on loan to Vissel Kobe, in Japan, and after playing regularly for the first team and scoring 6 goals in over 85 games, Raphael made his move permanent by signing with the club.

After signing the contract, Raphael stayed with the team for three more seasons, but only played 55 games and scored three goals before returning to Brazil. Upon his return to his home country, in 2012, Raphael signed up with Figueirense and is fighting for a place in the first team.
