Jonatas Domingos is a professional football player from Brazil who plays as a midfielder. Having begun his playing career at the youth academy at Flamengo, in 2001, Jonatas quickly became known for his skill. He was rushed into the first team in 2002, although until 2003, Jonatas was listed as a youth team player as well. Spending his time between the two, Jonatas gained significant experience and went onto become a regular player for the Flamengo first team.
Over the next five seasons, until 2006, Jonatas would play over a hundred league games for the Flamengo first team, even making his way into the Brazil national team squad in 2006. However, Jonatas would never make his national team debut and in 2006, would move to Espanyol in Spain.
Jonatas came to Spain with a lot of promise but failed to deliver for Espanyol. He spent four seasons at the club, two of which were out on loan, but in the two seasons that Jonatas was in Spain, he only played 25-odd games for the club. In 2008-09, he was sent back to Brazil on loan, playing for his old club Flamengo for 13 games. In 2009, after the end of his stint with Flamengo, Jonatas was immediately sent out to Botafogo for another 18 games, following which he returned to Spain and Espanyol.
Still struggling to find a regular first team spot, Jonatas decided that the only way to move his career forward would be to move back to Brazil, where he signed with Figueirense in 2011. Since signing with Figueirense, Jonatas has managed to play just 11 games with the first team, still struggling to find a regular spot.
