A professional football player from Brazil, Walter Henrique da Silva plays as a striker. In 2004, Walter was noticed, for the first time, when playing at the youth academy at Esporte Clube Sao Jose. After two seasons, he was picked up by Internacional, where he spent all of 2006 and 2007, and a bit of 2008, before breaking into the first team as a nineteen-year old.
In the two seasons that he spent in the club, Walter’s time was mostly spent on loan, out to FC Porto, one of the bigger teams in Europe and the biggest in Portugal. He played just 22 games for Internacional before moving to Porto and played another 19 times for the Portuguese side. During his Internacional career, Walter scored five goals and in Portugal, he added another seven to that tally.
Walter became known after helping Brazil win the 2009 South American Youth Championships where he scored 5 goals in 9 games. At FC Porto, he was a part of the team that won the Portuguese League title, the Portuguese Cup, the Super Cup as well as the UEFA Europa League.
