Mateus Alves Maciel
A Brazilian football player playing at the highest level of the game, Mateus Alves Maciel specialises in playing as a defender. Mateus is a product of the youth academy at Cruzeiro Esporte Clube but made his debut in 2007-08, at Uberaba. A year later, he moved to Ipatinga Futebol Clube and, after spending 2008-09 with the team, moved to Atletico Goianiense in second half of 2009.
Unable to settle down and find a regular playing spot in any team, Mateus moved onto Associacao Atletico Caldense at the end of 2009, but in the middle of 2010, he was moving again, this time to Concordia Atletico Clube. He moved to Ypiranga Futebol Clube in 2011 and finally hit the mark. He got the kind of performances he needed to get noticed and after just 16 games & 5 goals, was picked up by Portuguesa where the story continued.
He played 23 games for Portuguesa and scored twice, which was good enough for him to find a place with Brazilian Serie A side, Cruzeiro.
