Diego Arias

Diego Alejandro Arias Hincapie is a professional football player from Colombia who plays as a midfielder. Diego began playing professionally for Deportivo Pereira, in Colombia, in 2005. He spent four seasons at the club, establishing himself slowly as a dependable and solid player who would play as a foil for the defence, sitting right in front of the defenders. Diego played almost 100 games for the team, scoring once during his Deportivo Pereira stint and moved to Once Caldas in 2009.

Immediately after his move to the team, Diego was a part of the first team and made that spot his own. He played over 45 games for the team, scoring three times during a two year period. Following his stint with Once Caldas, Diego moved to PAOK, in Greece, but was unable to establish himself in the time he spent at the club. He made around 12 appearances for the team, scored a goal but remained a popular substitute rather than a first team player. For Diego, regular playing time would only show up if he moved to another club and Cruzeiro was his destination in 2012. By the time Diego moved to Cruzeiro, he had made his international debut for Colombia as well, but hasn’t received a call-back since that game.
