Wagner Diniz Gomes de Araujo is a professional football player from Brazil, who plays as a defender. Favouring the right flank, Diniz is the quintessential right-back, constantly flying up and down the wings for the duration of the game. Beginning his career at Clube de Regatas Brasil, Diniz worked his way through the youth system and got in to the first team. From 2000 to 2005, Diniz was a part of Clube de Regatas, with the exception of one year in the middle.
Sent out on loan, to Treze Futebol Clube, Diniz spent 2004-05 away from his parent club, hoping to get some form of regular playing time with a new club. He became a part of the team that won the Paraiba State League title, but regular playing time was still missing.
That wouldn’t come until the second half of 2008, when he moved to Brazilian giants Vasco da Gama. From 2005 to 2008, Diniz became a regular starter in the Vasco line-up, scoring 6 goals in the process of playing over a 100 games.
He moved to Sao Paulo, in 2009, but couldn’t break into the first team. Sao Paulo decided to send him out on loan instead, this time to Santos. After just six games for Santos, Diniz returned to Sao Paulo but still wasn’t able to get into the first team. In 2010, he was sent out to Atletico Paranaense for a loan period that was renewed at the end of the season.
He has become a regular in the Atletico Paranaense team, with 35 games under his belt and three goals to his name.
