Guilherme Milhomem Gusmao is a professional footballer from Brazil who plays as a striker. Often playing in the role of a playmaker or support striker, Guilherme is known more for his assists than his goal-scoring abilities. Guilherme began his career at Cruzeiro, where he was also a member of the youth team. He got into the first team squad in 2007, and became part of a line-up that was the highest scoring team in the league. Despite making very few appearances in his first season, Guilherme picked up the pace in the second season and ended 2008-09 with 28 goals to his name. Guilherme helped his team win the Copa Sao Paoulo de Juniores title in 2007, with the reserve squad, as well as the 2008 Campeonato Mineiro title.
In 2009-10, Dynamo Kyiv came calling and Guilherme was signed up on a five-year deal that saw Kleber move to Cruzeiro. Guilherme made ten appearances that season, scoring five times despite coming on as a substitute, mostly, late in the game.
After that single disappointing season, Guilherme moved to CSKA Moskova on loan after Andriy Shevchenko returned to Dynamo Kyiv. After two goals on debut, Guilherme's performance dipped and he ended his 17 match stint with just 6 more goals. Despite the existence of clause to turn the loan into a permanent deal, CSKA opted out of it and sent him back to Dynamo Kyiv.
Kyiv decided to transfer Guilherme back to Brazil, and Atletico Mineiro brought him into the squad. Guilherme has yet to establish himself as a regular first team player in the line-up, although he is a fantastic prospect for the future.
