Born in Americo Brasilience on April 4th, 1984, Gilson do Amaral, or Gilsinho as he is popularly known, began his professional football career in 2003, with Marilia Atletico Clube. In the same season, Amaral moved to Ituano Futebol Clube, where he completed the remaining season.

In 2004, Amaral once again changed clubs, this time moving to Esporte Clube Sao Bento, where he completed one season. The striker then moved to America Futebol Clube, in 2005, and then returned to Ituano FC in 2006. After 35 appearances with the club, and 6 goals to his credit, Amaral continued his shifting spree and changed to Paulista Futebol Clube in 2007.

21 appearances and 8 goals later, Amaral next found himself in Jubilo Iwata, where he remained till 2011, scoring 25 goals in 98 appearances with the team. In 2012, Amaral moved to his current club, Corinthians, where he is still awaiting a chance to play with the first team.
